Breaker Breaker is a charity founded in 2019 by Leanne Lyons and her family following the tragic loss of her husband, David, to mental health struggles in 2018. What began as a grassroots effort to raise awareness has since grown into a registered charity (achieving status in early 2023), dedicated to supporting mental health and general support to those within the haulage industry.
Today, Breaker Breaker provides assistance through its INSPIRE programme. An inclusive support service available to drivers, office staff, and anyone working with the industry, across the UK and Ireland. The service offers confidential phone support, online resources, and, where appropriate, up to six sessions of free, face-to-face counselling. Crucially, all support is delivered with strict confidentiality, ensuring individuals can seek help without fear of disclosure.
